Where is Blanche Marie situated ?

The impressive Blanche Marie waterfall is more than 300km southwest from Paramaribo. It is one of the biggest waterfalls in Suriname with a massive displacement of water. The impressive waterfall stretches for more than 120 m over the forest. It is the most ecstatic rainforest which contains all ingrediënts of the Amazon rainforest, like the 8 different kinds of the Surinamese monkey and more than 200 kinds of birds. There are also beautiful hiking paths leading to the El Dorado- and Eden falls.

What are we going to do on this trip?

The tour begins with a trip towards Zanderij; On our way, if desirable, we will stop to take pictures and consume a delicious bread and drink.

Afterwards we will pass a few Amer-Indian villages and continue our trip to Witagron, a maroon village, where we will make a stop to have lunch. After this stop we will begin our second journey that brings us over different creeks and bridges straight through the jungle to the Blanche Marie fall. Upon arrival we will explore the environment, you could go for a swim and then we will have dinner.

On day 2 after breakfast we will go via a jungle trail to the waterfalls. On the way we will give a presentation about the flora and fauna and also have you enjoying the view of the fast rapids in the river. Once at the falls, you can sit underneath some of them and enjoy the refreshing mineral water showering on you while wondering, like many other tourists,  where all that water is coming from .You can also enjoy a mindblowing massage in nature’s jacuzzi’s. At 13:00 p.m we will go back to the lodge to have lunch. After that we will spend the day at the El Dorado falls, where you will have the opportunity to go fishing.

After breakfast on day 3 we will go search for the petroglyphs after which we will return back to Apura. Upon arrival we will go sightseeing in town. In the afternoon we will visit the rail road; following our trip to the Amer-Indian villages, little Kwamalasemoetoe and Washabo, where we will stroll around for a while and have you introduced to the the culture of the Trio’s and the Arowaks, two different Amer-Indian tribes. Furthermore, you could buy local souvenirs. In the evening after dinner , there will be a fun gathering.

Day 4 is the day of our departure. After breakfast we will pack our bags and return to Paramaribo.
