Where is Galibi?
The area is located on the Marowijne River, at the mouth of the Atlantic Ocean. Galibi is the collective name of 2 Karaìb Amer-Indian villages, Christiaankondre and Langaman kondre. These indigenous villages originated after slavery and have now grown into a community of about 750 inhabitants.
What are we going to do on this trip?
Early in the morning you will leave by bus through the east-west route to the border town Albina. During the 2½ hour trip, the guide will tell you about the history of the area and the sights on the way. Halfway through Stolkertsijver we will make a stop to drink and have a sandwich. Around mid-noon you will arrive at Albina, from where you will continue the trip by boat. Depending on the tide, Christiaankondre can be reached after about 1½ hours of sailing. After lunch there is time to relax and explore the area. In the afternoon, you will take a walk in the village walk, where you will be given a detailed explanation of the current lifestyle of the Amer-Indians. After dinner you will sail to the nesting beach of the sea turtles called Babusanti to view them laying their eggs in this season. The overnight stay will be in beds with mosquito nets in a lodge in Christiaankondre with the use of common sanitary facilities.
Day 2: After breakfast, You will go with the guide for a walk on the beach and have a nice swim in the river. After dinner you can enjoy a nice cultural dance and music performance.
Day 3: After breakfast you will leave for St. Laurent (French Guiana) by boat for a short visit to the bagno (Entrance free is not included). At noon you will leave for Albina. Lunch will be served at Albina, after which you will travel by bus to Paramaribo.

What is included?
Transportation by bus and boat, all meals and fruit, water, juice/syrup. Overnight accommodation, tour guide (Dutch / English). You need to bring your own snacks.
Possible food restrictions will be taken into account.
What to bring along?
- 2x towels and Swimwear
- Shorts, T-shirts. Bring enough clothes (Even when it’s not raining, you can get wet by the splashing water)
- Proper running shoes with profile
- Sunscreen lotion/ toiletries/ mosquito gel
- Hat or cap
- Small backpack to carry water
- Surinamese money for the purchase of souvenirs (if available) and personal expenses
